Roddy Williams – The Atheist Poet

Night (2016)

I nest in the bay of your stomach and thighs
a fit worn smooth by
the ebb and flow of a long moon’s tide
in the white waves of sheets
crisply flogging the shore
at the bridge of your chin

threading your fingers through mine
like wet hawsers
gentling against each other
as dreamfish
nibble at our barnacle snores
